This week at school we have been learning about limericks. A limerick has five lines. The first, second, and fifth rhyme with each other, and the third and fourth rhyme . We were put into pairs to write as may limericks as we could. Here are some of ours.
The unicorn is a legendary animal
It is most definitely not a mammal
He love carrots
He despises parrots
Guess what! he was a cannibal – This one was mine
My Brother was watching a bear
while sitting on a chair
the chair fell over
saying move over
before he lost his hair – Chloe wrote this one
There was a paddock full of llamas
they sang songs all about pajamas
They tried drama
with Barack Obama
and then kissed a iguana- (we did this one together)
It’s another 100 word challenge, this week the prompt is ( drumroll please) ” why are grandparents important?”
Grandparents are important because firstly if we had no grandparents none of us would be here so I guess you could say they are very important. Grandparents are always very kind and generous. They share funny stories with us about their lives and it is hard to believe that times have changed so much. Grandparents always have lots of spare time and can teach many things such as cooking and playing board games. Grandparents are very wise and have many life experiences that always makes sense and are very valuable. Grandparents love and support us always whatever our choices are.
P.S Don’t forget to comment and send me a voice mail which is right next to this post.
You can guess from the title i’m doing another 100 word challenge and it’s for homework. The prompt is all I could see was two red eyes. Enjoy 🙂
Today after school, I was so excited as I was going to the movies. I was nearly home when I heard something moving in the bushes. I crossed the road and saw a creature hiding in the bush. It was well camouflaged in the green and brown leafs. All I could see was two red eyes staring back at me. I took it to the lake as I knew it was where it belonged. What a beautiful creature the red eyed green tree frog was I thought,as it happily swam away in amongst the reeds of the murky lake.

Make icing Using an electric mixer, beat butter until pale. Gradually add icing sugar mixture, beating constantly until combined. Tint lime green by mixing food colourings. Step 4
Spread cupcakes with icing. Press 3 Smarties into tops for spider bodies. Place chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on medium (50%) for 2 minutes 30 seconds, stirring with a metal spoon every 30 seconds, or until melted and smooth. Spoon chocolate into a snap-lock bag. Make a small snip in 1 corner. “Jack O lantern” Cake Pops
You will need a black edible ink pen (available from cake decorating suppliers) alternatively you can use cake decorating writing gel in chocolate or black (available from supermarkets). Break the cake into small pieces and transfer to the bowl of a food processor. Process until fine crumbs form. Transfer to a bowl. Add the chocolate frosting and stir to combine.Step 4

I am going to be doing a 100 word challenge and the prompt is ” What is that?” Hope you enjoy
It was a balmy night and the moon was shining, i went to go dip my feet in the pool. The lights were twinkling like stars. I leaned in and saw a dark shape in the water.” What is that?” I said. As I leaned in closer I saw a brown, slimy frog swimming happily in our pool. When I saw it I got the fright of my life, slipped and fell into the pool with the frog. I jumped out quicker than lighting and screamed so loudly the next door neighbors lights went on. Based on a true story.
Please comment and tell me what you think of my slimy situation =)

Sorry this has taken so long but the video wasn’t working so here it is now.
The meaning of this movie this movie is to show people what can happen in colder regions of the world, (like Antarctica in this instance) when Global Warming occurs. Several things can go wrong and the most important one is shown in this movie, icebergs and ice platforms or iceland melting into water and drifting away. This movie will touch your heart and you will want to help. So if you liked the movie please comment.
This week we are doing the 1o0 Word Challenge so here is mine enjoy!
One hot summer day I could not resist the urge to wade amongst the rocks at Shelly beach. Suddenly a huge wave crashed against the rocks and swept me out into the ocean. Before I knew it I was caught in a rip gasping for breath. Looking behind me, I saw a man on a jet ski. I waved and screamed frantically. He scooped me up and took me to shore. “Swim between the flags next time” he said and I assured him I always would. I sat on the beach, still in shock and disbelief at what had just happened.
So have a go it is really fun and if you don’t have anything to do in the holidays this would be perfect. There is a link in my blogroll to the website so enjoy…
Recently my friends and I entered the Young ICT Explorers competition. We chose to do a claymation on Antarctica and what happens there. We spent nearly two terms last year when we were in year 5 researching the topic of Antarctica. We have used our knowledge to create a movie using Windows Live Movie Maker. We chose this project because we thought many people do not realise what they are doing to the wildlife in Antarctica and we wanted to get the message across to those who don’t understand. We were pretty frustrated when we couldn’t quite get the timing right and we were also frustrated that when we tried to play the video first, it kept blacking out so we missed half the movie. Thanks to our wonderful ICT teacher she solved our problem.
The story outlines how Animals in Antarctica live their lives. However the problem is when Global Warming occurs, and all the ice melts away, the animals homes get destroyed and they are separated. Some of the scenes shows how a seal will catch its food (which is a Penguin) and shows the Albatross flying away and a Penguin swimming. At the very start, there is also a whale which dives in the water. This story is supposed to be educational and to show younger learners about the causes of Global Warming and what it can do in some places. Although the movie is made out of clay, it is very meaningful and it is really happening out there. We entered our movie and got the results that we were in the finals, we were so happy! Lucky enough we won the merit award ” the judges favourite” how cool is that!
